Friuli-Venezia Giulia has an extraordinarily rich history and a beautiful nature, going with mountains, vineyards and of course the sea.
Beach-Lagoon-Swimming Pool Acquatic Parc-Boat renting-Cycling Grado has a beautiful beach which is fully equipped and very safe because of its very gentle tides. The Parco Acquatico on the beach is nicely equipped with salted sea water. Our lagoon is unique to discover by renting a small motor boat or sailing boat. It is also possible to rent a kayak and practice wind surf and SUP. The kite surf club awaits you in Grado Pineta. For those who like cycilng, you can easily rent bycicles and ride through the island and surrounding, discovering small villages and wineards.
City-trips and archeological sites The area is very rich with historical and archeological sites. You will discover more than 2000 years of history within 80 km, from Ancient Romans to Longobards, from Napoleonic times to the Habsbourgs and the First World War routes on the Carso area. Lovely regional cities such as of Trieste, Udine, Gorizia, Pordenone are not far. There are also many 'castelli and fortezze' and beautiful museums to visit.
Natural reserves and walks There are several natural spots such as the Isola della Cona natural reserve where you can ride horses that live freely on the lagoon. You can enjoy birdwatching in the “Caneo” and discover an ornithological site. The rivers Isonzo and Timavo are wonderful spots for free walkers. The Grotta Gigante (the largest touristic grotto in the world, in the Trieste area) and the Postumia Grottos, in nearby Slovenia are a great experience especially with children and teens.
