Our position

Our island is only a few kilometres from the Friuli Venezia-Giulia mainland, about 50 Kms from the town of Trieste and 40 Kms from the town of Udine.

You will discover more than 2000 years of history within 80 kms, from Ancient Romans to Longobards, from Napoleonic times to the Habsbourgs and the First World War routes on the Carso area.

For those passionate for nature : the Isola della Cona (Cona Island ) natural reserve, the “Caneo” and its ornithological site, the lagoon and fishermen huts (the casoni).

The rivers Isonzo and Timavo. The Grotta Gigante (the largest touristic grotto in the world, in the Trieste area) and the Postumia Grottos, in nearby Slovenia.
